three dead and several others injured. sal castaneda joins us now from the newsroom with more on the suspect and his dangerous crime spree. >> reporter: tory, the suspect is a tomorrow los angeles police officer who was fired in 2008 for making false statements. he is suspected of killing two people over the weekend and then shooting and killing a riverside police officer this morning. 33-year-old christopher dorner is described as an african american man, 6'0," 270 pounds, last seen driveing a gray nissan pickup truck. he was seen here with then police chief william bratton, the police advisor relm hired by oakland. police say his crime spree began sunday night when he shot and killed a woman, monica kwan, the daughter of former police captain and her fiance, a 27-year-old man. last night police say he attempted to steal a boat from the harbor but was unsuccessful. now steal on the run dorner shot at 4 police officers at two separate locations ambushing and killing a riverside officer at a traffic light and injuring another. dorner is said to have a vendetta against all law e

of of the country. our low is right in the four corners. it looks like an active week for everyone except us. in fact, temperatures -- we might see some low 70s by wednesday if not thursday. no rain this week. 7 and 10-day outlook do not look promising as well. lows 30s, 40s. highs, 60s today. upper 60s to near 70 by wednesday. maybe thursday or friday for sure. santa rosa is the only one holding onto 100% of normal for the rain season. we did so well october, november, december. but a dry january and what's looking to be a dry february looks like these numbers will continue to go down, down, down. there is a lot of rain in tallahassee. they've had 4, 5 inches. severe lining up from atlanta back through alabama, mississippi, and north of new orleans and even into texas. for us, not a chance on anything here. looked really quiet except for sunny and warm. 30s and 40s. 50. 37 fairfield. there's still a component of an easterly breeze. north napa, northeast or east, even oakland hills and an easterly breeze. there are some that are mild. sunny, breezy, cold morning, inland. slightly warm. after

. the suspect tried to escape by using a smoke grenade but retreated back to the cabin but not before shooting two san bernardino police officers. >> one of our officers has been wounded and unfortunately one of our deputies was killed. >> reporter: the cabin erupted in flames although it's not clear how the fire started. the l.a. times reports police heard a single gunshot before the house burns down. tonight authorities could not confirm earlier today that dorner's body was found in the confirmed cabin. >> there was a suspect who fled into the forest. barricaded himself into a cabin. engaged in gunfire with deputy sheriff. shot two of our deputy sheriffs and killed one and we believe he is still inside that building that caught fire. >> reporter: dorner is a former l.a. police officer who says he was wrongly fired. his lengthy police manifesto says he will go after law enforcement. >> i want to thank fire and local law enforcement who day and night tried to bring christopher dorner to justice. >> reporter: police say they will wait overnight to determine whether the body is dorner's. ktvu ne

joins us live outside the courthouse to explain what happened today, claudine? >> reporter: well, the hearing was quick. it only lasted about 30 minutes, tori. now that's all -- now all that's left for barry bonds is to sit and wait for this panel of judges to make a decision. >> the united states of america versus barry bonds. >> reporter: a lot of legal arguments were made this morning in front of this three- judge panel all trying to answer the question did barry bonds obstruct justice when he testified before a grand jury back in 2003. his attorney argues the government case comes down to one question about his childhood friend and personal trainer greg anderson. the question was did greg ever give you anything that required a syringe to inject yourself with. bonds answer focused on his friendship with anderson and his celebrity child status. >> why couldn't he answer that with a yes or no? >> he did. he did three times, your honor. on page 48 and 49, ausa says you satisfied me. we've covered this but i'm going to ask you one more time, were you given anything to inject yours

from down the hill began to surround the area. our air units were up. they located the vehicle. >> us the peck abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. he barricaded himself in a cabin. at that time, there was an exchange of gunfire between the law enforcement personnel outside of the cabin and the subject inside. during that gunfight. a deputy sheriff, two deputy sheriffs were shot. one of them died after being taken to melinda. the second deputy is currently in surgery and is expected to survive. >> were these deputies on routine patrol or were they part of this large. >> and the deputies that were shot were part of the search audits. of us sinking into the supper 20s to low 30s. we'll talk about the slight warmup expected for the afternoon coming up. >>> we are following developing news out of san francisco. police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened just a few hours ago. they tell us a man was shot in the city's western edition. alex savidge is live there now. what can you tell us so far? >> reporter: we are getting very limited information from police this morning. that is because it's so early on in this investigation. a sergeant that was out here confirmed a man was shot and killed. he was found right over near this corner. near the intersection of hayes and webster. an anonymous caller reported gunfire in this area around 2:00 this morning. we'll show you that video. officers were out here for most of the morning. police tell us the victim was rushed to the hospital after suffering at least one gunshot wound. he died there from his injuries. homicide investigators searching for the shooter involved here. a sergeant told me they don't have a description on the person to put out. in ju

of a serious crime where several cars were burned. new at noon, ktvu's sal castanedo joins us live from oakland to explain what's happened there now. good afternoon, sal. >> reporter: good afternoon, tori. this is the tree set on fire just a few weeks ago. just a few yards up the street here, this is the tree set on fire last night. there was a car parked here. it caught fire as well. residents say someone is intentionally setting trees on fire and that has them worried about what will happen next about two weeks ago, someone set these trees on fire on nicole street. this is cell phone video. in that fire, several cars and power lines were damaged. last night, two more trees were set on fire, one in the front and the other on the side. we spoke to a man who heard the commotion. >> the first thing i see when i step out is just flames around my car. you see my car. the only car parked there. it was too late. i couldn't do anything to move the car or anything. i just stood there and watched until the firefighters come in and started spraying the trees. >> reporter: lieu iz hernandez says -- lewis
